Today I have 6 days. I feel very fragile but I’m still confident I can make today count. Lately I’ve been feeling like people aren’t being genuine with their intentions to help me in recovery. Seems like everywhere I go someone always says or does something to push my buttons. I can barely trust anyone. Even my own family. I’m willing to connect with someone and work an honest program but how do I open up when I feel that people are against me? Any thoughts or advice on that would be much appreciated thanks y’all, and Happy pride

Those feelings will subside if you take the chance. I haven’t met a person yet in the program who has Ill intentions to someone who is trying. The feelings you have of paranoia and suspicious are the addiction trying to get you to use again. Be gentle with yourself. And give it some time. You are going to hear truths you don’t like, and things you don’t agree with. Just be open and willing to give the suggestions a shot.

Get a sponsor you can trust. I think we are all sensitive in the beginning. You'll gain confidence in sobriety in yourself. That will eventually help you heal.
