Today I’m 10 days sober, I’m having a rough time sleeping. Today I’m trying to stay as positive as I can but mentally it’s tough. I know it’s my body changing since I don’t have alcohol but didn’t think it would be this bad. I feel like I’m going crazy today. Any suggestions,
Hit a meeting and talk about it. Zoom or in person. Just hang tough buddy. This will pass with each day you keep that positivity flowing. Congrats on that hard won 10 days.
Thank you very much and I’m going to a meeting tonight, if all goes well tonight I’ll have a sponsor as well.
Now that’s the path. Good for you good man. Stay the course
Will do my best, thanks.

Hi Greg! First, congratulations on 10 days! You’re in the double digits now! Sleep can be a tough thing in early sobriety because we’re accustomed to a sedative to fall asleep. Definitely follow Kevin’s advice and hit a meeting and talk about it. Additionally, you could try some melatonin or magnesium (I like the Calm brand). Both are natural sleep remedies that can help get your circadian rhythm on track. Good luck and reach out if you need more support!
Thank you I appreciate it, I take a medicine at night as well for anxiety and I’ve been trying not to take it as well. If it’s sosmthing that makes you sleepy it knocks me out and I feel worse the next day. Melatonin works but I feel super groggy in the morning. Been trying not to rely on anything to sleep. It sucks lol. A
Oh I have heard of people being sensitive to melatonin like that. Well know I’m standing in solidarity with you in sobriety! Your sleep should even out in a few weeks, or at least that is many people’s experience.
I hope it does, not only is it affecting me it’s affecting my finance, it’s like she can sense it and she’s not sleeping well. Thank you for the kind words and advice. Good luck on your journey, I’m going to keep taking it one day at a time.
Hey! Congrats. Have you tried some simple meditation before bed? Not for everyone but it does help to calm me a lot!!!
