Great job!!

That's not a craving. The cravings come after you have drank, as described in the book Alcoholics Anonymous. What you experienced is the mental obsession, where we can't stop thinking about drinking. This is a physical allergy (makes me different when I drink bc I can't stop) which manifests in the phenomenon of craving, where my body demands MORE. I also have a mental obsession, where I think about drinking all of the time. Something bad happened? Drink. Celebrating? Drink. Mourning? Drink.

I would highly recommend AA, getting a sponsor, a home group, and working through the 12 steps. It was the only thing that I have ever done which relieved my obsession to drink. Alcohol doesn't control my life anymore, I am a free man!

Best of luck to you though, you aren't alone. There are millions of us worldwide who would be willing to help!

I'm grateful for this, too!
