How did you do it?

By going to meetings, listening, sharing, being involved, doing the steps, but most of all, I finally believed that I was born with the birthright to be happy and fulfill my purpose. This took getting know and love myself and to value myself. Meditation and reading helped too as well as keeping networked to sober communities and attending meetings no matter what country I lived in or visited. I made a conscious decision to change my life and believed I was worth it and I mattered. We all matter...no matter what people think of themselves or what others think of us- we still matter. I guess, you have to realize you are masterpiece created by star dust and our Higher l Power and that we have a purpose in life even if we are always work in progress.

This is exactly the inspiration I needed tonight. All of it. From start to finish. Thank you, Ally.

All you need is inside you kjust stay connected. We are like that little bulb on Christmas tree lights...if we are missing and not connected the rest of the light don't work. Plug into life and both you and all of shine. Stay connected and life will shine its light for you to see what a miracle you are. Love you Mary, my sister:)

That is so so wonderful! I just joined today...im have a couple addictions im trying to get better from...any tips of how to get started?

❤️‍🩹

HI Deylin, just the sheer fact t that you asked for tips means you have a sincere desire to have recovery and a better life. This is something to be super proud of because in ypur heart of hearts you have already done step one...admitting we are powerless over our substance use disorder , whateverthe substance or addiction. When I first got sober I made sure I went to a meeting every day and listened, shared when I could and went to the coffee shop after the meeting with all the others. I saw they possessed a different, authentic kind of joy and I wanted the same. So, I listened and did everything they told me. I had to rebuild my relationship with my higher power, whom I already loved, but had to get honest. I had to go to therapy to understand what I was recovering from in order to recover. Most importantly, I connected with people in recovery and was open minded to change a day at a time, keeping it simple. You got this Deylin. It's your birthright to be happy and healthy and you are on the right track.

Congratulations :confetti_ball:
