I am thankful for my sobriety. I am 27 years sober. It may sound like I've got it made, but the urge to drink is still there. I don't take for granted how easily that I could relapse any day. I don't feel safe from the desire to drink or take drugs. I still have to put the work in every day to fight the beast.
