Today is day 1 (again) why cant i just "get it"
Listen it took me about 100 times I have about 20 white chips lol. Just hold on Nancie . What is your drug of choice?
Keep pushing. It's tough, but keep focused on loving yourself. Be gentle with yourself, and I'm proud of you.
You got it u just have to keep it....no judgement just plz keep coming back
I've been there.Don't give up if you need to talk.Hit me up
As many times as it takes 3 xs or 100 you are worth it don't give up
It’s also day 1 for me we got this
We have all been there many times and it’s not easy. You will find that day and time. Just be kind and patient with yourself. You are stronger than you realize. It’s taken me many attempts to be where I am rn but you are not alone.
@nancie430924 Just like a dog returning to its own vomit so will a person return to the drink.
One day you'll realize that you're allergic to alcohol. When you come to that day then you'd stop.
You are just keep pushing yourself you've got this
Took me 14 rehabs to get it but I will never get it. 1 day at a time and have 18 years. Just 1 more hour only 24 of them. You can do this.
It all starts with Day 1. We all understand about starting another Day 1… Never give up… That fact that you are here is proof that you WILL achieve Day 2, then 3 and so on.
One of my favourite songs is by Journey (and sobriety is definitely a journey) “Don’t Stop Believing”
Nancie, all any of us have is one day. It doesn't matter if you have 20 years or 20 minutes, all we have is today.
I ask the same question
Same, I’ve had so many day ones. My longest so far, this year, was 30 days. I’m at day 13 now but I want to hit day 31 then I want my 2 month chip. I refuse to have duplicate chips so my goal is the 2 month chip. One day at a time and I’ll get there and so will you. Don’t give up!
An old girlfriend of mine told me one time "you can't stop falling once you've jumped off a cliff." To which I responded "sure you can, you just have to find something more important than falling."
I truly feel the same way..5 treatments and 2 year prison sentence..smh!!
Nancy, you can do it. I was a chronic relapser for years. I thought, everyone thought I was hopeless.
I’m here to tell you that I am completely sober for 16 years. What happened, what did I do?
- Well I finally made my sobriety my number one priority in life. Over finance, romance and even family.
- I went to in person AA meetings every morning and night.
- Did the 12 steps thoroughly multiple times.
- Lots of service in the sober community.
+Life got way better and easier. So good that I won’t trade it in for a drink or any drug.
I’m here if you want to talk or have any questions
I was a chronic relapser because I thought I had time to quit later. It as only when I was 59.5 years old facing retirement with people younger than me dying of all sorts of things that I realized it was now or never. I have a prevent relapse plan (talk with 4 friends BEFORE I pick up) and make sober plans for future bad things. It's worked so far for me. Good luck!!
It takes 30 day to create a habit and 90 days to get over one , Diligently Seeking recovery ,give yourself a chance, believe me our addiction is waiting for us it's our chose if we want it back or not I love and we all r here for you
