Today is day 2. Im feeling the lack of motivation

Today is day 2. Im feeling the lack of motivation. Depression is feeling like its at its peak, all i want to do is sleep instead of feeling the way i am. My energy level is so low that its giving me a headache. How long before things start to feel better.

Hey Steven, the first 30 days were the hardest for me, but after a few days, I got a lot of clarity back. The first 90 days are an adjustment, just be sure to eat what you can, and drink a lot of water. Gatorade/or some sports drink are a great help. If you can, find a meeting online or in person- that was my lifeline. Congrats on getting sober! You got this, and keep us posted man!

Try a long long walk. Exercise worked for me. And you get healthy at the same time

Steven,
CONGRATULATIONS :confetti_ball::tada:
Trust the process!
Depression , Headaches, Cravings are all normal.

Eat healthy, hydrate. Smoothies, tea.
Veggies and fruits that I blend (whatever I have) beets peeled, celery, cucumber, apples, carrots, spinach, lemon or lime.
I blend them and serve them over ice with pulp and all. I save the rest in the fridge. You can fill the glass half full and add water.
Gray detox and nutrients.

I am proud of you! :+1:
You are in the right place! :hugs:

This is completely normal as your body is trying to heal. Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids and eating enough to balance your nutrients and stabilize your blood sugar. Look for some new hobbies or ways to occupy your mind when your thoughts start drifting as well as rewards to raise your dopamine levels. It may take a little time to start feeling better but it will be so worth it. Just remember to show yourself some grace and take it one day at a time. You can do this!

The first few days were the roughest for me....I was able to start eating on the 3rd day and that was a game changer, got my body fueled. Sleeping was still hard. Today is day 7 and I feel ready. Sleeping good eating good :+1: Give yourself some time and try to get some meetings in. Congratulations on your sober journey :muscle:

I don’t know if you listen to podcasts, but there is one by Brad Mcleoud, called the sober motivation podcast. It was a game changer for me

Steve, it’s going to be ok. The great news is that you never need to feel like this again! Make this your last time. Remember this horrid feeling before you take the next drink/drug.
As for how long will you feel this way, it depends on how toxic you are. Drink lots of water, sleep, eat lots of bananas and easy to digest foods that are high in minerals, vitamins and antioxidants.
I’m here if you want to talk

Thank you to everyone that commented with some remedies and kind words. The feeling so far has passed. The headache is not at overwhelming, went for a long run with my dog, cold showers, breathing and green tea has helped.

Hey, Steven! Great job on taking care of your mind and body yesterday. Those are great ways to improve your well-being. If you haven't already, attend meetings and find a sponsor. If things seem too much, please look into sober living or something similar. I want you to be at your best!

I hope today is much better. Keep reaching out.
