Today marks 1 week sober after a bad relapse. Not sure how I feel to be honest..,
A lot of people are going to tell you how you “should” feel. Myself included. But really, it’s okay to not be sure. It’s kind of like a bad break up. Sure, it’s the right thing to do. And your life is going to get so much better without the baggage. But there’s still the “what ifs” or “good times” that your gonna miss. Drinking was our “solution” to every problem we had. It’s bitter sweet to give it up. It’s our comfort zone, our coping skill, our friend that’s always there. Until one day, it’s not. It’s okay to be unsure. We go from numbing our feelings completely to hearing “I should feel happy that I’m sober.” Emotions come in waves and they’re over rated anyways. Just remember at the end of the day, this is an accomplishment. And maybe not today, but some day soon, you get to be proud of your accomplishment. I love you forever❤️
Feel proud you still alive and back. And have one more day. Welcome back to the living. Congratulations on that hard won week also.
If you have feelings that is great start. You have started and accomplished so much. Coming back can be harder than starting the first time. You have plenty of support here when you need it. I have times when I don’t know how I feel because to be honest it’s been so long since I’ve had feelings. Hope tonight is good and tomorrow even better.
And that’s ok. You don’t have to fix everything all at once. We all stumble. It’s all about having the strength to get back up and move forward.
Addiction is a disease that usually involves chronic relapsing. Don’t beat yourself up, it happens, and it doesn’t mean you’re starting from zero again. Gods timing is perfect
Your the best! I can’t believe we became besties in rehab and laughed cried screamed…. Etc through it all together and here we stand
I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I’ll be here for you until the end of time & I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know❤️
