Today marks 1000 days since my last drink. Good thing I learned a new way to survive. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been totally worth it. If you are struggling, hang in there! For me it took an outpatient program that involved counseling, a life coach, a health and wellness coach along with a medical professional that provided a balanced amount of medication and vitamins that was able to get me on track. Working through the traumas and uncontrollable shitty life situations along with learning new behaviors such as eating healthier, proper workout routines and understanding proper vitamins that my body needed provided me the necessary tools to move forward in a positive/healthy direction. If you are here, you need help. No shame in seeking assistance to provide you/your family a better life. In these 1000 days of change I’ve lost 50+ lbs, I’ve paid off over $30,000 in debt, I’ve bought a house, I’ve explored close to 300 miles or more of hiking trails that have been essentially right out my back door, I’ve hiked/climbed 5 fourteeners and most importantly I’ve found a new way. I’m unsure of what future will hold, but I know it’ll be more positive than it would’ve been had I continued drowning out all of the noise with booze. You have to want it and not expect anyone to be there to give it to you. Easier said than done, but it is 100% possible. I believe in you!!
Congratulations
That’s awesome Jeff! This is a great message of hope! We go thru hell to finally become willing enough to do the work necessary to change. You’ve continued to put in that work for 1000 days in a row! May you be blessed with the willingness to continue on your recovery journey ODAAT
