Tough reads

I’ve been sober for 3 weeks and all I want is to stay off alcohol. It’s really hard after 37 years of habit, and to be honest, to read all the posts about people wanting to break their sobriety or already have. I’m not complaining, it just makes me feel like I’m going to fail and I don’t want to. I want to start correcting my life …. after all these years destroying it. I want to succeed. I need to.

If I can do it you can too MD. Are you attending meetings? If not I suggest you do because it has helped me and millions of others.

If you look at the trackers of those who reply, you will see that most of the people on here have a lot of success. Moreso than failure. Just the nature of the beast that us who post versus reply tend to be in a state of struggle. Look at the gratitudes and you will see a ton of success. It just depends o where you put your attention.

We all needed to get our $hit together. You have to want it. There is a difference. You said both. That’s a good thing.

I suggest you get to a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. That’s where people who have a drinking problem go to find a solution. It worked for me, it might work for you. I suggest 90 meetings in 90 days. All the best to you.

Good point - I may not be looking toward the right comments - thank you

Thank you, no we live in a small community and I’m not comfortable as to have fingers pointed at this time as I have several businesses… it’s just what they do here. I have however been going to addictions and also a personal counselor to help sort threw issues and stay on track. Thanks for the reply
