For me, staying completely true to myself, starts with being 100% honest with people when they ask why I dont drink, smoke, etc..

I will never stay sober if i am not honest with myself first, then honest with everyone else. I am an addict, no longer ashamed, only hope to give away what I have learned throughout this journey.

I :100: agree with you. I have no problem being honest and open now, or ever really. Some people don’t like honesty or can’t handle it. We don’t need to worry about that though because that weens out the real vs phony people that we don’t need around us. Stay in your truth and don’t let anyone tell you different. I’m Sarah and i’m an ADDICT MF’s! Love me or hate me! IM ME. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I also want to add that friends who truly care or want to be around you… won’t sugar coat sh** and appreciate your honestly. Whether it’s constructive criticism or just pure honesty and maybe things they just need to hear about themselves... I know i want friends that will tell me or address things with me when I’m acting out or acting irrational at times and not tell me what i want to hear… I want to hear what I NEED TO HEAR. PERIOD :pray:t3:

I’m not disagreeing w your sentiment, but if the person asking is a buzzed out stranger, I feel no compulsion to share.

I feel the exact same. I don’t feel ashamed in hiding what I’ve done and who I am. I’ve been open and honest since the beginning of my sobriety and I feel as though because of that, it’s how I’ve managed to keep myself on this path.
