Share as much as you feel comfortable with and need

I agree with Tim, you share what you want when you are comfortable. This is about you not them.

I think it depends on the setting and how you know the person. Everyone in your life is not entitled to every part of your life. You’re inner circle experiences who you are and usually gets all of your highs and lows. Info dumping on everyone can be a trauma response and something we need to re teach our brains.

I agree, what you’re comfortable with. As long as you’re sharing you’ll be surprised how freeing you’ll start to find it. Proud of you

I'm going to go against the grain. I have to be brutally honest and be willing to extremely transparent when I tell my story and share what I did, and sometimes still do.

I heard in the last week that I suffer from terminal uniqueness. I thought that my story was special and that no one did the horrible things I did, and had done to me some other junk. I was wrong.

Does EVERYONE have the EXACT same story. No, that's ridiculous. There are people when I share here and at meetings that can relate.

Did I...

  • Steal from my kids piggy bank to hide and purchase beer, yup

  • Go to work super hungover, yup

  • Leave my kids in a half full soaking tub, while I went to the garage to find a hidden beer, yup

I learned that working The Steps and a successful program means I MUST get the garbage out into the universe what I did, and what I doing not to be that person again.

It doesn't have to be here on this app. I have to admit to God, to myself, and another person the exact nature of my wrongs.

I h ok pe that you are so desperate to stay sober that you will try something new, have faith, and working inside-out.
