My wife has been sober for 266 days now and it is very difficult for her most days. We are from SE Wisconsin and I'm trying to find other sober people for us to hang out with. It is very difficult for her to be with our prior friends even if they don't drink when she is around to try and help her. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
First and foremost. she needs to personally get on here and ask fir help from the many recovery alcoholics like her. Second she has to go to allot of meetings as that is where she will get help and make friends. Hopefully not to far from a hub of AAs that will guide her where the hangouts are and get #s etc. One day at a time.
@fred429415 how do I convince her to go to meetings. I keep hearing " thats not for me" and "I'll be fine." Bit at the end of the day she is still miserable.
Chris, you’re a great man for helping. The sober community is here to help even more. However, we alcoholics must do our part. I went to lots of in person AA meetings and got involved in my sobriety by sharing my experience and struggles. Then I met people who were going through similar issues and were in the solutions. I made new friends where we supported each other. All kinds of cool people and things to do.
I’m a grateful recovering alcoholic of 17 years. I’m here if you want to talk or have any questions
