TY Garbage men!

The garbage man always wakes me up so da** early! I’m sitting up here thinking about my dad (who passed) who was a garbage man… he went to bed at 7pm to wake up at 2am to run 5 miles before work EVERYDAY to have enough energy to just BUST HIS A** to come home to a family he KNEW he could provide for and spend a few hours with.

THEN HERE I AM… complaining about being woken up. Thank you garbage men for not just taking our trash but to smack ppl like me in the face when we even THINK ABOUT complaining about the small sh**. :raised_hands:

One thing I have learned from the community is your problems don't go away, they just become "Cadillac problems."

Absolutely :raised_hands: But why is it called “cadillac” problems?

Why not “ford escort?” I know i’m SETTING myself up rn… :joy::woman_facepalming:t3:

I loved those cars. I had a 5speed that was built like a ww2 era tank lol (I got the joke though )

:joy: I remember my guy in high school had one and it was the ugliest piece of sh** but got us from A—>B on low gas $, jammed packed all of us and he drove that thing for YEARS! So i believe you

Mine had 400k miles when I finally sold it. Absolutely a solid vehicle BUT vehicles are only as good as the care you take of it. Another consistently solid vehicle is a Toyota 4runner. They have an avg life expectancy of 350k

Well i’ll be dam***. Cadillac problems is prob the correct term then. They are expensive, not worth it and just sexy externally, not under the hood. Nothing sexy about fixing an expensive car not worth fixin’.

"They are expensive, not worth it and just sexy externally, not under the hood." -- How many relationships have you ever had where this was literally the exact problem? I've had too many to count. Holy sh** that made me giggle, sorry. :joy:

That’s an amazing change of perspective. Check out the book A New Pair of Glasses by Charles Chamberlain.

I had a Cadillac deville once, ( i was 19) think it was a 94’. (not sure) TRUE STORY. Big a** GOLD boat. i drove it off the lot and it sh** on the highway literally 30 min later.
LONG STORY SHORT… got it fixed couple G’s later (No warranty, As is) and my ex bf stole it and headed off to Tennessee. Never saw it again… :tipping_hand_woman:t3::+1: If i can do anything right… it’s knowing how to pick out the REAL WINNERS. Let me tell you! :joy:

Look at my last reply. That should tell you ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW. :skull_and_crossbones: :joy:

i Shall! Thank you!!!

It sounds like you had an amazing dad! I just posted a sticky note on my fridge and on my computer that says “stop complaining” to remind myself of all the good that surrounds me. From what I can remember, I did a lot of complaining when I was drinking.

Thank you. I hear he was a rare :gem: for sure… I def need to write the same down for myself. I get too caught up in myself at times and need to always remember, it can ALWAYS be worse.
