Honesty is the spiritual principle of the first step! When you can honestly admit that your life is unmanageable you’re ready to accept help. Get to some meetings and get connected with people. Connection is the opposite of addiction

Look into a program and try to work it with that

You're alive and not locked up.
You are given another chance. So what have you learned from all this? Whatever your addiction is, when you contemplate picking up a drink or a fix, all you're doing is believing the LIE; That this time things will be different. So I ask you, are things any different this time? They aren't, are they?

We have to learn to play the scene all the way forward. You might feel good for a while but sooner or later you are right back where you started, having to deal with your emotions and all the challenges of life.

Personally I would start going to AA meetings. Get yourself ninety meetings in ninety days. Get phone numbers and use them. Get a sponsor and get into the 12 Steps of AA. That's how I did it and I have almost 8 years. If you are an addict, you can choose NA and do the same thing. You have to take action beyond this app.

Amen. Thanks y’all

I relapsed back in 2019 and ran my life into the ground. Lost my wife, kicked out of my house, and moved in with my dad.
I went to treatment and was told to ask myself one question, what’s one thing I can do differently this time in recovery?
That question changed my life.
I didn’t try to change everything at once. I tried one thing and that was honesty. I was honest with the clinicians. I was honest with myself. By doing this one simple thing I was able to see my faults more clearly. I was able to make even more changes to my life as I grow in sobriety. When we try to change everything at once we fail. Start small the rest will follow.
