Using Dreams

I have been sober a little over a year. Lately i have been having the absolute worst using dreams. They are so real. I wake up shaking and in cold sweats and then i want to use so im not feeling that way. Its been so bad lately.

I know exactly how you feel. The only good thing is actually wake up and realize they’re not true.

Tiaunna, these intense dreams are very common in early sobriety. Even after 17 years of sobriety I have them once in a while.
I’m just grateful I’m still clean and don’t give those dreams any power to make me obsess over using. Instead I play the tape in my head all the way to the ugly bitter end of my using days. Then again I’m grateful for my sobriety.

Sometimes the best thing yo do I've found out is to journal about it. And talk about them. Take a look at what's going on around you and why you. Feel the way that you do. Most of us have experienced this.

That exactly what your addiction wants you to do, go to a meeting, call a sober trusted friend, or therapy or all just don’t use. It’s never worth it and never feels the way you think it’s going to. It won’t solve any problems likely make mornings fact. Do anything in the world that you can to feel better but use
