It took me 3-4 months for it to stop completely. It just takes time.

I am in the same situation. I started a new job on Monday and I am still WDing from things. It's really hard. I understand saying 3-4 months all in all, but no. You, we, will start to feel better in a couple weeks. Drink a lot of water and try to work out. Take prescription meds to help you sleep. I take Trazadone. Also take your Vitamins!!! I take Vitamin D and it helps me feel better. But don't underestimate the value of good sleep. Getting a prescription for Trazadone (totally safe) is pretty easy. It's taken by a lot of people and has no risk of addiction.

I’m sorry, early sobriety sucks but better that it was using. It gets better, it’s worth it and so are you!

You will get better and stronger...keep a journal so you can look back at your progress. Take warm baths, take a slow walk around the block. Wa

Withdrawal and work is hard. My job knew and I would tell them the RAM in my brain was on fire from overload :flushed::smiley::smiley:

The heavy duty physical misery really only lasted 4-5 days. I agree with the trazodone.

And meetings with other alcoholics. In person. Stick with the women who have the sobriety you want.

Mandy, it is going to get better, the main thing is NEVER GIVE UP!

Hello Mandy: Having gone through withdrawals literally hundreds of times I can tell you with absolute certainty that it gets harder when one gets older. I’m SO grateful that I don’t have to do that again!
Respectfully, I think that me telling you a number wouldn’t help. I strongly suggest that you try to stay busy and not to be alone, if possible. If you have a dog, try taking it on many walks. Fold laundry. Pick up trash. Doing something simple and fun might help. Personally, I make meetings. I’m a grateful NA member. I haven’t had to go through withdraws in over 5 years. Recovery feels good. My life is so different, but it’s boring! I have learned how to live without drinking or drugging. I’m happy too! It works! It really does. Keep your chin up. These bad feelings will pass.

I found ice tea, calm mg supplement, daily exercise and epsom salt baths all helped me. Keep in mind you are recalibrating your nervous system so it helps to mentally adjust your expectations in the short term. You are sleeping now not passing out. Keep with it and i willget easier.
