Very difficult day for me this past summer. My last remaining brother passed away and this is the first holiday season without him so it’s very difficult but I’ve already made up my mind. I am staying sober. It’s still very difficult.

I am sorry, Michael, for your loss. Holidays can be very emotional without grieving the loss of a loved one in the mix. I understand your pain. I lost my Dad and husband. I miss them all year, but especially at Christmas. The two guys I loved most in the world! I just hang on to the knowledge that we will be reunited one day. Maybe this Christmas, you could volunteer at a homeless shelter, or visit an old people's home. Step out of yourself. Put your grief on the shelf for a bit and help someone in need? It might help.
