VERY much struggling with staying sober at night

VERY much struggling with staying sober at night. I wake up EVERY morning, thinking I’ll never drink again, and then I totally fail, by 6pm.

Hi Polly,
First, I suggest that you examine the underlying reasons why you are drinking. It's very important to get to the source. Maybe tell yourself that you won't drink for that day only. Take small steps first. Once you figured out why you you drink, get help to unravel those issues. Mine was past trauma from childhood and male relationships. I never felt loved by my father. So you that saying looking for love in all the wrong places. I selected mates, on a subconscious level, that mimicked the struggle with my Dad. It took a while to connect this so that's why I'm suggesting you to do this. For me, AA, refused to allow me to express this; said I'm making excuses and other negative things, which weren't helpful for my recovery.
Get a spiritual program. I believe in God and God has saved me from that miserable life of medicating myself. It's not going to be easy, but don't give up on yourself. Something I did, but gave others many, many chances to abuse me with my permission.
As a sexual abuse survivor, I didn't know how to set boundaries. Now I do. Some people will exit your life, but it's necessary for your well-being. Get a hobby and stay laser-focused on your recovery because you can and will be successful.
Anyone who's negative, cut them out of your life.
The main thing is acceptance. You know that saying.
Praying for you, Polly.
All the best.
