Today I am an alcoholic. Tomorrow will be no different. My alcoholism lives within me now and forever. I must never forget what I am. Alcohol will surely kill me if I fail to recognize and acknowledge my disease on a daily basis. I am not playing a game in which a loss is a temporary setback. I am dealing with my disease, for which there is no cure, only daily acceptance and vigilance.

This only refers to the phenomenon of craving.. Alcohol will always trigger it.. It doesn't refer to anything else.. We recover physically and mentally after we have a vital spiritual experience/ psychic change (overcome the spiritual malady). The phenomenon of craving/allergy isn't an active force in life. It can only affect you if you make the decision to put the chemical alcohol in your body. We are not sick people for life. At least not those of us who have the capacity to be honest and work this simple program as laid out in the Big Book.

Alcoholism is a practice we suffer from not a Disease we have. The Big Book lays it all out.

We recover from dis-ease.. There is no cure because we don't have a Disease.. Self imposed dilemma..
