I found this old account of mine and just wanted to come here to warn IV users of something. I used IV for a decade and never heard of this until it happened to me - an abscess in my spine. An infection traveled to my spine and left me in the hospital with the possibility of either dying or being paralyzed from the waist down for two months. I thought i’d pulled a back muscle horribly and finally went to the ER and they did an MRI and found the abscess. if you use IV and ever feel horrific back pain, get an MRI. you might have what I have and you could die or be paralyzed. I’m lucky to be alive. i’m still in a lot of pain and will most likely have this pain for the rest of my life. be careful.
Thank you for your share
Or just don't use IV drugs. That's always a option too
Yikes! Good luck Luna.
As a former hospital social worker, these abscesses can form ANYWHERE. I’ve seen them in arms, clavicles, shoulders, necks, legs, and hands - all in folks who utilize IV drugs. Stay safe out there everyone, but most importantly- recover. Glad you are ok, Luna. Good luck managing your pain, I’m sorry this happened.
wow man you sure cured my drug addiction
wow man i never thought of that! if you’re going to judge addicts then why tf are you on this app? i’m assuming you’re an alcoholic that judges drug addicts. typical.
Ignore the trolls Luna. You’re doing great. I was an alcoholic and drug addict so I win both prizes:roll_eyes:. I know two IV users personally who almost died from MERSA infections. Both were hospitalized for months.
How ru doing now
