Watching the show Intervention. Don’t know if anyone else out

Watching the show Intervention. Don’t know if anyone else out there watches this show but it pointed out something that resinated with me. We often remove drugs and alcohol but replace them with toxic people. Those people become our new addiction, so when we try and separate ourselves from them, we experience withdraw symptoms. That explains why I’ve found it difficult to cut people out of my life for fear of having that feeling again, overwhelming anxiety.

That’s a good show. It was really helpful for me in earlier recovery. Made me feel less alone and very grateful that my bottom wasn’t as awful as other’s. The little song at the end has made me cry many times. That, and when the people get sober, get their live’s together and then go back out.
