We Recover Out Loud
I love this! Its so easy more me to share my gratitude but harder for me to reach out to someone on days where I'm feeling depressed and struggling. Still working on owning those parts of me - in my addiction I became so used to pretending everything was fine all the time, that even being truthful to myself about what I'm feeling can be challenging at times. Always a work in progress!
That was beautiful. I am still learning not to keep a lot of stuff in, but I learned the hard way that when I try to protect others from my truth, it backfires/every effen time lol.
I can definitely relate! I've also seen that when I'm vulnerable, others will often feel comfortable being vulnerable too. Something I try to remind myself of when I'm lacking the courage to speak or act my truth.
Heard this on a show today. You can be the anchor or the hammer. One keeps you down, the other is a tool to build with. I was like

Thanks for the powerful message Mimi!! It’s so true and I think the key to living the happiest life. I can struggle with hiding the parts of me that I know others might not find so appealing. Thank the lord for my sobriety so I can have a fighting chance! Progress not perfection!!!
Yeah I don’t mind saying I’m alcoholic and quit drinking like two years now. It’s pretty well received actually
It’s hard sometimes because you tend to forget all you’ve been through and all the people you’ve hurt in your addictive behaviors! Pull yourself together and know that it will all work
Love this. Thank you!!!
