Welcome back sunshine!

Today I am grateful for the sunshine state living up to its name! I am grateful for Tuesdays every time they roll in. Tuesday is SU group and I get the opportunity to support and educate others.....my passion! I am grateful for waking up sober. The Journey of Recovery is daily work. For ttoday others will be able to make a recovery plan. This should be interesting. I also have to have a difficult conversation with a group member. You see, I have to report to probation and the courts the progress being made and the participation of group members if mandated. Today the conversation will be had were the member is informed that regardless of excellent participation there has been no progress in recovery. There has been no reports or UAs indicating use of methamphetamines, opioids, or cannabis. However, each week there is conversation about alcohol use. The physical addiction to it. The choice to NOT admit self for a medical detox. The refusal of a higher level of care that has been offered. Today is the day that this conversation will be more of a formality of notice. I am hopeful this may sway some pros and cons of seeking treatment options. Today is a great day to be a CPRS!
I am grateful for the opportunities yesterday to meet to new kiddos and their parents. Intro to DBT and the anger iceberg and the anger volcano. Intro to Mindfulness for 10 year olds. Neither kiddo spoke. I did see the twinkle of eyes and a couple of smiles during class, and that is a start!
I am grateful today to be waking up sober. I am grateful today to be strong and grateful to wake up, roll over, and write my gratitudes.
Today. Sober. Strong. Grateful. And Hello Sunshine!!!!
