You can do it Lisa! You can always start over and recommit. The power beyond me always forgives, so I think you are already forgiven. You’ve got this!

You don't possibly know this but coming from someone that has no family and children to take care of and on top of that trauma. Your message meant the world to me!!! I'm always trying to be perfect! I only drink at night so my children don't know.

That must be really difficult, I can’t imagine. What I do know is that you need to do what’s best for yourself, and it seems like sobriety is what you feel is right. You just have to take it a moment at a time, and slowly you will accrue the days. Take care of yourself.

I want to go to rehab but I'm risking the custody of my children and I'm their main care provider shit their only provider

I’m not really familiar with rehab and other avenues of achieving sobriety, but I would assume there is some kind of outpatient treatment that you could do. Would that be a possibility?

I’m not sure what state you are in, and I’m not super familiar with those types of programs, but I’m sure there are some good online resources to help you find something in your area.

Yes!

Please I really need a rehab in my area :pensive: I'm done suffering bc my husband is ashamed. I'm willing to lose my children for a while if it means I'll be sober and healthy,

I’m not sure where you live Lisa, but a quick google search on your end for rehabs or outpatient programs near you would populate results. Unfortunately I cannot do the research for you, but I can be here to cheer you on!

There’s also some options listed right here in the app. From the main screen tap β€œsober help” down at the bottom. From there you can begin searching some options.

Well then give me a rehab in summerville in sc!

Lisa
Don’t worry about the day count or what you may consider to be a failure. Nobody here is keeping score. It’s not important what any of us have done in the past, it is what we choose to do today!
There are people on this site who have gone many years living a sober life and have then given back into it. We don’t focus on the past, only what we will do in the next minute, hour, or day.

I was in the Same situation. At first I didn't go to rehab. I was scared to go to inpatient. So of course I thought I could just do it myself and my drinking was ok because that's what the disease told me. I ended up messing up big time a couple time with my kids. So they got taken anyway and I ended up in inpatient rehab. The best thing I've ever done!! Note I relapsed plenty of times and ended up at inpatient 4 times. I wish someone told me a long time ago that I could medically detox from alcohol and then try to start on recovery! Best thing that's ever happened to me!! Saved my life. Finally got in some sobriety, got my kids and family back! U have to take care of yourself before you can take care of ur kids. If they get taken, u can get them back after u medically detox, work on your program and get your brain fog lifted some. I never knew I could be in recovery like this and actually be a good mom for once!! I know it's a scary thing but it's worth it. The courts want the family to be together. It would look better on you to have rehab on your record instead of a DUI like I did with my child in the car. Best of luck. οΏΌl
