Well here goes day 1 hour 1 all over again. I just don’t know why that empty feeling eventually gets so overwhelming that a cocktail is the only thing that numbs me and fills it.I love being sober so much better .than drinking. Don’t need sympathy just thought if I said it I might be stronger. I hope everyone has a beautiful day on their journey
Here goes day 1 again for me also!
Try reading the untethered soul-it will show you another way to handle the down times. I’m in Scottsdale-if you want to get coffee and read together
I get the same feeling. I think it's actually a seratonin spike when a que or temptation of alcohol arises. It becomes less over time.
So sorry about the tragedy of your son. I too was a catholic raised kid where drinking was a reward. I think I like day one more than I dislike it. I have used alcohol so long as a separation from the hard work of a day to the relaxation of the night. There is such a void without alcohol. I have quit so many times and have no problem doing it after a few days but there is always a sad void. Is that anything like your experience?
Where are you in Scottsdale? I am at the Kierlands
Day 1 for me too. You are not alone!
Stick with it Chris!
Good morning people!! Try to make a MEETING in your area or on Zoom. It works. Just For Today I have 4 years, seven months and 10 days clean and sober. I'm not saying this to belittle you, by any means! What you're doing is amazing. WE all started with just one day. I find this journey is much easier when I'm with lots of like-minded people. Keep coming back.

Good morning all. @chris102027 congrats on day 1. Thank you for your courage to start over again and express what’s on our mind. Let us know how you are feeling this morning. We have all had day 1. You are not alone.

Been there too!! It’s a hard feeling to have and work with. I try to remind myself of all the good feelings I have when I don’t and how I’ll feel it I did. We’re human and it’s not easy! Hang in there it’s a new day
Cunning,baffling and powerful
It's good to self reflect. The fact that you realize you had a small step back is actually more moving forward !!
