Well my dad is trying to get ahold of me and when I was young staying with him he use to abuse me because he had a drinking problem and was really mean to me I’ve been sober for a year and 8 months now and I’m working on my fourth step but really don’t know if I want to talk to him any suggestions on this situation would be appreciated so much thanks

I hear you and I truly understand. I think your doing an amazing job on self and working the steps. The word is forgiveness are you willing to forgive your Dad? Let go let God. Holding on to this can make you really sick. It can cause you many regrets. Have you tried ACA Adult children of Alcoholics. BRB. Big Red Big. I don’t know how old your Dad is but wouldn’t you like to have a relationship with him? Before he passes maybe you can clear the air and tell him how your feeling. Only suggestions ok. Pray on it ask God for direction. It works I do it faithfully everyday. Coming up on 4 yrs in April. I wish you well hope this helps Cindy
