Way to go! Seriously, it is one day at a time, and sometimes one minute at a time. I try not to look too far out, just make it through the day making the best choices I can and say prayers of gratitude!

Thinking about not drinking for the rest of your life early in sobriety is not helpful. Definitely one day at a time as Michael said. Keep at it and the days will become easier to manage. You’ll see things improving all around you, don’t lose sight of the fact that it’s happening because of the decision you made 3 days ago. Your mind can trick you into thinking you can go back out and everything will remain the same. Don’t believe it. Keep striving for personal growth each day. Life finds a way of making us take a step backwards, as long as you keep at it you’ll counter each step back with 2 forward. That’s the direction we all are headed now. Proud of you man!

Thanks ty I appreciate it. I literally never knew what the day by day meant! But been doing it and it seems to work. I have less stress in my life since I’m not thinking about the future issues that may never occur. I do my best on the tasks at hand today and try to do my best tomorrow

Thanks Aimee

Getting past the first few days is always the hardest! Stay focused on each present moment and don’t worry about tomorrow. You’re stronger than your will to drink! Reach out for support when you need someone to talk to.

Great mindset!!Whatever the future holds, you can handle.
