Welp, flushed 10 months down the drain tonight. Anyone have any advice to get back on track?
Just get back on track. Go to a meeting today.
I really dislike this mentality which unfortunately sobriety trackers cause. You didn’t flush anything down the drain. You have 10 months sober and 1 day not sober, that’s amazing!!! Keep rolling on that sobriety train, you had a minor hiccup, nothing more

You’re back! Be grateful you made it back so quickly. My last flush cost me 5 years of wreckage and pain. I’m sure you learned a lot during those 10 months of sobriety. What things were you doing that kept you sober early on, as opposed to what you were doing for garbled to you picking up that drink. Try and look at this as a opportunity to learn more about yourself, and what works and doesn’t work for you
Thank you all for your kind words. I hope it was just a one night hiccup and I can get back to staying sober
You just did the first step! Now get back into what you were doing, and a key part is figuring out what led you to getting to a place or relapse and figuring out a plan to deal with a similar situation in the future. You got this, push off from here.
ITS A MIRACLE YOU MADE IT... work that miracle... IT GETS LESS DIFFICULT! O2-28-2OO2
Hey man, how're you doing now? It's been several hours, so I wanted to check in.
Just a small noteworthy thought: a slipup / relapse does not take away or reset anything for you. You still have those 10 months + everything you learned along the way. Hold that chin high, this is just alcohol trying to get a sneaky win in since you've been beating it handily across all fronts.
Take all you've learned from your ten months, combine it with what you've learned from this slip, and just let it go. I know it's hard, but forgive yourself and move on.
Final thought: idk if you're much for football, but sobriety is much like the game. You can't focus on the previous play, no matter what happened. You gotta get right back up, line up, and focus on what's coming on this next play.
Just get back to it Matt!
You reset your clean date. That’s all. Your experience and hope stay the same.
You can get back on track. Kind of silly but that’s 0.33% of being drunk in the last 10 months. Be mindful of your alcoholic brain trying to trick you back into more drinking because you slipped.
My brother put it the same way and looking at it that way does help
I’m back on track for now. I’m actually feeling lucky I have the breathalyzer in the car so I’m not able to go out and drink and drive. I feel since I’ve done it before I can do it again. Between everyone here and my support system at home everyone believes in me. That can be stressful but I don’t want to let people down again so I’m going to keep on trying my hardest to stay sober
That’s really all I can do at this point. Chalk it up as a loss and get back to doing what I need to do
I hope it does. It is a struggle but I’ve done it before and hope I can do it again. Made it longer this time than the last so now I have a new record to beat
It was just a combination of things that finally got the best of me. I think I know what I have to do moving forward and hope I can stick with the new plan
You can do it Matt! Remember that you are worth it!
