Ill been sober on march 13 for 8 years and this isn’t my first go around . All i can say after awhile you dont even notice not drinking to have fun . It bothers the drunks way more than it bothers you, your not drinking . With that said . Someone told me long ago . If you’re going to quit tiger hunting, stay out of the woods .
Wait awhile till you got some days under your belt maybe years . Its all around us . Watch your triggers.

I remember attending my first work party after I became serious with my sobriety :sweat_smile: sure was hard staying away from the bar. I didn't want to backslide into an old habit so I went for the tacos and had a mountain dew :tropical_drink:soda instead. After that it got pretty much easy having self control :passport_control: over the brew. I thank God for the ability to control my vices surw feels good!

One of the major upsides, as there are so many, is the financial aspect... in the two years I have been free of alcohol I have yet to have a restaurant or bar bill exceed $70. I would easily drink $110 worth of whiskey prior, and in a matter of a few hrs. My relationships have all grown tremendously and I have even learned to limit or cut out the toxic people from my life. It DOES GET EASIER, Derby, and although I personally love the taste of beer still, I have bought (3) six packs of NA beer in two years and the last one still has 5 left, purchased a month ago!
