Went to my first in person recovery MTG today and to be honest I'm a little disappointed. I still don't feel like I fit in. No one is forcing me to do this but the only reason I am is because I don't want to do something stupid and end up going to jail. I don't have legal involvement right now but I'm just dumb enough and probably will get drunk enough to do something stupid. I am a nice person I'm just tired of being bullied my whole life and I'm never going to be rich enough to go on some fancy vacation. And anyway I'm just venting. No one told me about their vacation and I know things will never make me happy but I'm just not feeling right today

Mindee why do you think you will never be happy because your not killing your self with drugs and alcohol. Try doing some zoom meetings. My first in person was awful too because they were friends and I felt I didn’t belong there either so I drank again. Now I know I belong in the rooms whether in person or Zoom. We are all alike. No one is better than the next remember that. You are very important in our recovery and yours. Please don’t give up. Keep fighting. Reach out.

As far as expensive vacations. Don’t need expensive to have a great time. Stop comparing yourself. Ok.

My friend made me crazy today with her craziness and she is a sober person . I wasn't ready for that but wanted to be there for her. Well it was a little too much for me

Someone told me long ago, don’t compare your insides to other peoples outsides. Do what’s best for you. All groups are different, do a little “meeting shopping” find the ones you like. I moved to new area after being sober for 8 years, went to about 15 different meetings before I settled into the 3-4 that I go regularly. Found a home group where I feel like family.

That's a good idea. And true I've only been to 1 in my area so far
