I alternate between watching old Star Trek episodes, and listening to guided meditations or lectures about spirituality. A friend of mine from the rooms turned me onto Allen Watts. He’s this guy who used to do lectures on metaphysical stuff, kind of reminds me of a PBS nature documentary, only about the soul :slight_smile:

Maybe take an evening walk if possible, burn some energy. I recommend at least 4 hours before bed though!

I tend to play video games or even watch/rewatch favorite seasons of TV shows!

I have recently been watching psych a great detective tv show but with a twist while I put together lego cars keeps me distracted for about two-three hours :slightly_smiling_face:

Just work out until you can’t move anymore! Just knock yourself out while getting healthy plus you just pump those endorphins at night and you feel so good. Join a gym with a sauna as well workout before and go in after sweat and shower after go home and drink some tea and go to bed! Or read man!

I totally changed my job and with that my sleep schedule has changed. I do find myself isolating and sleeping a bunch. I try to be acive right after work and in the house before the streetlight come on. The city I live in has me surrounded by restaurants and bars and I find that I no longer have patience for drunks therefore I have spent time and money making my home a place of serenity and zen.

I watch Family Matters, and sleep.

Those were the days when I could stay out until the street lights came on. Then I was staying up until they went off. Glad that has changed!

As of right now my Monday’s look like this;
After work, meditation, a meeting, did some grocery shopping, about to read in the 12x12, have a meeting with my sponsor and his sponsor as we are doing a zoom meeting and discuss the 12x12. This week is on step 4 and tradition 4.
Then I’ll watch a couple episodes of ancient civilization…

How do I get a sponsor?

I love to color....if you put your mind to it it can distract you alot! Also cleaning taking a walk....if you enjoy video games that might help.... Journaling can be very therapeutic as well....if you write down your feelings it really helps....it kinda releases this feelings...
Good luck you can do it

Do you go to AA or NA meetings? I went to both meetings early on in my sobriety and actually picked up a sponsor in both programs. I eventually picked AA as the program I felt was the best fit for me. Since then I’ve had three Sponsors. You can ask people on here if they can sponsor you. I’ll see if I can find someone to sponsor you. I’m currently full. In the meantime find a local meeting. AA dot org. Get a big book and start reading.

If I cant sleep I find that if I start typing or coloring my eyes become heavy and I am able to fall asleep. TV is always a good distraction, as long as its not loud LOL

Join a gym it's very therapeutic helps with the stress of other things in life I go 5 days a week I've been sober 6 1/2 years

I've been sober 28+ months, have a great sponsor, and attend local meetings.
