I’ll be home with my boys, playing board and card games. Will stream a “ball drop” on the TV around 8 then get them to bed. Enjoy the quiet evening to myself with a book and some tea.

Do you do a local zoom meeting or a big one?
I haven’t done much zooming. I live in Texas where live meetings never stopped, for better or worse. But with the new virus spike and my home groups reluctance to mask up, I am exploring other options.

We do a Loosid zoom tonight at 7:30 eastern that is social and a good gathering. It’s held every Wednesday evening hosted by MJ from Loosid. Jenn (who is rad and an inspiration) is often in attendance with us on wednesdays

This year I think it will be a quiet one again. Probably just hang at home, read a book, drink some tea and be in bed before 10. The doggies will be unhappy with the fireworks, so I’ll try to keep them calm.

Yes! The quiet nights are usually my favorite and feel most in line with what I value nowadays.
The fam and I are going out to my brother’s farm to light off fireworks and make clam chowder. It’ll be below zero, but we’ll still have fun. The fireworks reflecting off the blanket of snow on the ground will be magnificent!

This will be first NYE home in many years, and my first one in recovery in way too long. We are doing a progressive dinner with a few neighbors. I’ll be the only sober one which sucks! My sponsor invited us over, but we had already committed to do this. I’ll have fun. I have incorporated my sober friends into our social calendar this time around. Learning to live a balanced life is quite a challenge. Like many of you, I prefer to lay low and go to bed early. However, the Mrs does like to go out.
