What does anyone do on the weekends to kill the loneliness

Pray and get into service if you are able to ,, get yourself to an aa meeting and look for service opportunities. Try and find a home group. Do you like being outdoors?? Try hiking/walking. When outside enjoying nature start praying developing your relationship with your higher power.

Go to the gym and workout, or going hiking. Being outside in nature, going for a jog, it really soothes the soul. Those two things have saved me from my loneliness and I partake in both activities as often as I can. Now I’m to the point where I fully enjoy being alone because I’ll put in my music and run. Also, I’ll go for a drive and listen to music. Or write/paint/read a book/play a video game- anything like that to kind of take me away to another world and keep my mind occupied. Going to meetings is a really great way to meet people and stay connected with a community of people who are also in your shoes. And apps like this are awesome.

I make meetings and fellowship with other people in recovery afterwards. Maybe it sounds boring, but it's NOT. I love my friends from recovery. Most of them love me for who I am and where I am. Thank-you.

One thing that's helped me stay busy is enrolling in college. Having projects and deadlines to follow keep me occupied and out of trouble.
