What does anyone do on the weekends to kill the loneliness

What does everyone do on the weekends to kill the boredom, restlessness & loneliness? (7 months clean & sober)

I read, write, and walk a lot. Or do some yoga. I’m often alone, but rarely feel bored, restless, or lonely. In fact, as an introvert I crave solitude. Your experience might be different. Are you going to any meetings, like AA or such?

I haven’t been to an AA meeting in a while but found a move to heal program. We do 1/2 hour cross for work out then a meeting.. it’s not like AA though a topic is picked then we share. The last two topics have been balance & boundaries.

What are your hobbies or what would you want to learn?

Trying to figure that out lol. I’m open to trying anything new. I love being active and doing anything outside. Any suggestions?

I talk it out!! I call/FaceTime the positive people in my life or message with people on here. Eventually I’ll kick it up a notch and get out and about.

First figure out what you like, I had to figure it out all over again. Let yourself do that first, it takes awhile, probably a year for me. What did you like as a kid? Sounds silly but that’s where I started! I like crafts, tea, listening to music, cleaning, walking outside on trails, beach in the summer, some ideas! Sending positive energy your way! :muscle:t3::black_heart:

For me in the nicer weather I like to go out for walks, hike or just go for a drive. Inside stuff I am an avid reader. I like to listen to music, listen to podcasts. I also like to see movies and sometimes restaurants. I like to get together and meet people. Pardon the delay in correspondence.

No worries at all. I’m definitely looking forward to warmer weather!!! I’m about done with the isolation. I’m definitely looking to connect with new people and increase my sober network!

I go to meetings. Talk to others in recovery. Call my sponsor. Read. And most importantly I help the addict who is still suffering move towards sobriety.

Loneliness is an emotion. Learning to feel our new found emotions can be uncomfortable at times. But they will pass.

Meetings are best for me. I went up to people introduce myself and started making friends. Let people know that you are new and the magic begin :+1::blush::blush::pray:this is uncomfortable but will pass. God bless you

Hi Beth, sitting with loneliness can be challenging. There’s also a difference between being alone and feeling lonely - it’s been interesting for me to explore the difference! The biggest tip I can say that works for me is to listen to my body and perform acts of self care and to increase communication with those that I love

I'm I The same situation. Very lonely and bored when I have down time. Going to meetings is great, but It's not the same as hanging out with someone. just chilling at home or whatever is something that most people need just to feel normal sometimes.

Hobbies (for me, art and gardening), pets, reading books, watching standup TV, zoom meetings, tidying the house, call my sponsor, call my mom. And then there's some less healthy things that I do so I don't want it to sound like I'm perfect but I'm working on it
