Ive heard the quote a few times and often when reffering to sobriety. What does it mean?

I think it may mean that every human has respective issues. If we internalize every opinion thrown at us we won’t be able to function and will drink. One perspective.

I’m sober for 15 months. I work a program. I’m happy with my life and my progress. But to some ill always be the piece of shit fall down drunk who was in jail and CPS and all that stuff. And I can’t change that. So I’m not going to worry about things beyond my control.

What someone says is different. Sobriety doesn’t make me a wet noodle. If someone says something about me that is untrue I am prepared to set the record straight. I’m not talking about fighting or arguing.

It means what others are saying or thinking or talking shit about you or your life… you don’t need to know about because it doesn’t matter. Let them do all that negative talk, you get to live happy joyous and free now :innocent:

For me it’s about not worrying what others think of me. If I’m doing G0d’s will then I’m doing the next best right thing! No one can change my mood other then me.
