What does true forgiveness of oneself and one's past feel

What does true forgiveness of oneself and one's past feel like to you personally? I don't mean in recovery speak double plus ungood and what blue booker tells you to speak, think and feel. But the real you and what you feel? Can you differentiate anymore?

Why?

Good inquiry and thank you for asking. :slightly_smiling_face: So one can truly heal and move forward without the shackles of language covering up the depth of their emotions in an effort to mask the actual pain inside and have just be spewed out in rhetoric and ideas of long ago that may not apply to the trauma brought on and what forgiving one's self and one's trespassers in an effort to be truly free from the burden of self and everything that weighs it down.

EMDR has been helpful to me as well. I’ve been able to neutralize trauma using EMDR in therapy. I’d recommend it to anyone seeking to forgive or to be free of past trauma/hurt.

I'll answer this. I mean you are time traveling soon so I wouldn't want to miss out on your last posts before you go.

True forgiveness of my past and what it feels like to me... That's simple..weightless. every burden, secret, regret, fear, and self doubt has been finally lifted off me. A feeling where I can walk with my head high and feel good about being in my skin again. Knowing that every wrong turn and delayed arrival was meant for a reason. I truly learned to love myself again after I apologized to myself and forgave me for what I've done, said, and put so many people through. Sure some don't still talk or forgive me but as long as I know I made a real effort to ask for their forgiveness. That's all that matters and I can forgive myself because I at least tried.

Did that answer your question Dr. Strange..

Dear Mr. Tommy,
I know and fully recognize that we have had our share of different opinions and back and forth through this medium. I sincerely think what you wrote was well stated and was great. Thank you for your contribution to my thread and I have seen some of your post and feel that you ask good questions as well to gain insight into self and others. Keep asking the questions good sir. On one of the posts and it stated what type of father you were and your child is very fortunate to have a dad like yourself. You are dedicated and actually care. My hat is off to you sir. May your journey be safe and that you continue to find peace and growth.:slightly_smiling_face:

Rylan, all good man. I enjoy your intellect and am very grateful that you have different views as well. I do hope the time travel can be delayed because I do enjoy your posts and what you have to say. It's not boring and allows me to actually use my noodle on a topic that speaks to me. So keep doing your thing and don't forget to bring a towel (hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy). Best to you bud and thank you for your kind words. Single father is tough but it's sooo worth it in the end..her smile everyday let's me know how much it means..
