What gives me hope is when I hear, at a meeting, the despair one goes through. Then the solution they used. Which has given them results beyond their wildest dreams.
I was hopeless. I wanted death. All the noise in my head was driving me mad. Something inside me changed the day I was served a restraining order. I checked myself into treatment that was the first day I had gotten honest with myself in a very long, long time. Since then the honesty has unfolded into a way of living. Taking inventory, prayer, meditation, making right all of my wrongs, and helping others regardless if it impedes in the fun things I want to do. This to me is the beginning to true freedom from a powerlessness over Alcohol. “Thy will be done”
