What Is Gratitude, Really, And How Do You Practice It?

Is making a gratitude list showing gratitude? Is that the only "action item"? Or is there more to it? I think of gratitude like appreciation. How does one show appreciation? If somebody gives me a car, the best way to show my appreciation (gratitude) is to take care of it. Upkeep etc.

So, what am I doing to actually show gratitude, besides making some list that sometimes feels silly (to me)?

I have been thinking about this a lot lately. Possession of the thing of gratitude isn't enough, to me.

That is a great question
I would say there's no one answer for that as it's all dependent on your actions. I wouldn't necessarily say one can possess gratitude but moreso possess your own feelings and actions of gratitude. Journaling, practicing mindfulness--refer to memories the good and the bad, expressing yourself, spending time with loved ones can all show gratitude... just a thought

I agree with that. I think it's an action word that needs to be projected more than just words, for me anyway.
