I’m a bit believer in this. If I don’t do the things I need to do (work a daily program of recovery), I will slowly but surely become irritable, restless, and discontent once again. It is these feeling that will eventually become so uncomfortable, that I will find the need to escape them thru drinking and drugging

I'm doing what I have to for my own continuation. It's not as much as I'd like to be doing, but it's enough right now to stay going and that feels like the mission.
