What level of ABV is too high for someone looking to quit drinking?

0.5 or below doesn’t trigger anything for me. Curious to hear what anyone else has to say; some Radlers are 2.5% ABV but I’m worried one might be too much.

How much heroin is too much for someone looking to quit heroin?

See how ridiculous that sounds after I swapped a couple words? If you want to quit drinking, stop drinking. That’s any alcohol.

That’s just my thoughts.

Yeah if your alcoholic in nature weaning off won’t work. Go to a detox. Don’t try to detox alone extremely dangerous with alcohol

And I highly recommend a thirty day in patient program. Get a big book and start reading

I personally think any abv is alcohol as it is alcohol by volume. If your goal is no alcohol even 0.5% is falling short of that goal. To make any progress on a goal we have to be honest and objective with ourselves. Good luck on your journey.

This is the way of looking at it that makes sense to me

For clarity I’m nearly 6 months sober. 0.5 or less kombucha hasn’t provoked a relapse of any kind, just wondering what the threshold for someone’s trigger could be.

Agreed, kombucha has positive benefits - probiotics being a major one

My experience has been that even .1 is dangerous. Once you've started the train there's no stopping.

I was what my ex would call a "raging alcoholic". After she left because of said description I sobered up. 6 months and I was in my late 30s and the best shape of my adult life. For the first time in my life I was healthy, happy and sober. I had all the confidence in the world I had it beat. Social norms made being sober hard, and I thought I was to the point I could have a sip. Which I did, then went about life until the next opportunity, and I'd continue to test how far I could go. Eventually the raging alcoholic was back, and stronger than ever. Then my 1st seizure and we visit. I got out, sobered up for a month or so again and AGAIN I thought, I can have just one. Back to ER. This cycle continued for a total of 7 ER trips in 6 months. On the way I lost my job, custody of my son, all my friends and a large % of my family. I checked myself into rehab and from day one they preached abstinence was the only way. An alcoholic can't drink in moderation, ever.

Don't test it. It's not worth it

Need to close that door homie. Leaving a 0.5 % crack is risky for most of us . I drank some kvass , which I was told was a children's drink in Russia and it set off the shark eyes for more. Had no idea but it's something like 1%.... apparently they consider anything under 5% in Russia as food 🤦.
You are maybe referring to na beer with that 0.5%...those have got me craving too personally
Good luck my friend
