What motivates you to stay sober?

What motivates you to stay sober?
I think what motivates people to get our stay sober varies. Some people do for themselves, other for friends, others for family. I know that living a sober lifestyle is my only option as Im dead if I dont stay sober. There are sober apps for sober singles that help keep you accountable and also help you learn how to live sober. I think the more things I find to do in sobriety the more motivated I become. There are not only sobriety apps and recovery apps but also sober websites that I have found that help you find sober events, there are websites for Sober dating for sober singles, all which can help you find ways to stay motivated and find sober activities near you. Without showing ways I can remain drug free and alcohol free I think staying motivated would be very difficult. If you are coming out of an addiction treatment center I would start first and foremost by finding AA meetings near you to connect with as many people as possible.

What keeps me sober is remembering my past. Everything I lost and gave away due to alcohol. Enjoying my life now and looking forward to the future.

My health! I would be dead if I continued to drink and use drugs. I started valuing my life in Recovery when I came to terms with my reality. Sobriety is freedom ❤️‍🩹

My sleep. I’m on day 41 and haven’t slept so soundly in 43 years. It’s crazy.

Took a month to get it steadied out to a routine, but now it’s heaven

What motivates me is finally being out of a deep fog, my health issues because I would be dead. My relationships with certain people that have come back into my life. Being able to understand the doctors because before I couldn’t care. The death of my brother from this disease and my friend who bled out in his car from alcohol. I look at his picture when he was completely yellow because of not much liver function. It’s not always easy but is worth it. I am back to cooking and my credit is back to excellent. Just other than health positive things happening. I can only do this One Day At a Time.

Food tastes better, sleep is so much "sleepier," and I can hear myself laugh and just love my snicker that goes with it. I motivate myself to be sober, plain and simple. People change, places get old and things vanish but as long as I have breath I've got me and that's good enough.

Thinking about the past is main motivation. Overall, better health, more money, more “free time”, thoughts are more clear for the most part. Motivation was easy at first, after 3+ years it’s a challenge to get the ball rolling again especially after a prolonged break.

The pain, shame, and remorse I felt prior to finding my way back to recovery, gives me plenty of motivation to stay sober ODAAT.
I’m way past the early stages of addiction. The “fun” is so temporary, while the consequences are so horrible. At this point i must continue to think my addictive desires all the way thru. My addiction likes to romanticize how wonderful it would feel to have just one of anything. I need to focus on the reality of the consequences of that just one. I must think of my wife and children, as well as my peace and serenity

Just having a life worth living, without daily regrets or self-loathing, and the reward of just continuing to work on improving myself to the person I was always capable of being

I really couldn't tell you yet. Been trying to figure that out for awhile. It's like a desire to stay away from alcohol, almost. Not something I recognize at all.
