What’s something you never thought you’d be doing in sobriety?
for me, it’s running! always thought it was boring and pointless but the mental/physical benefits are sweet.

Agreed.
Teaching others about addiction. I returned to school and received my degree, obtained licensure and now educate others. Love it!!
I started martial arts in my second year of sobriety. Like hard. I did nine hours this week (Krav Maga, kickboxing, Jiu Jitsu). I’m not saying that to impress. It’s just something that I could never do while drinking. No way. At my age it’s a little crazy, but I’m doing it. And I don’t really think it’s to become a bad a$$ (well maybe lol). I love what it it does for me mentally, and of course the physical side. It’s also another healthy community to be a part of.
Having people come to me seeking advice/support.
Coaching all three of my kids soccer teams, taking them surfing in the morning before they go to school
Another drunk turned soccer coach here.
i’ve been considering learning more - seems like a natural progression!
it’s crazy what our bodies are capable of doing when the booze is gone. sounds badass to me haha
Praying
, going to AA meetings, read the steps. Have a sponsor.
I love this App and I share it with everyone has a problem
Yoga
Running! I believe it’s helped me find the path to sobriety and now it’s helping me stay the course. So many parallels between endurance training and sober living. I’m signed up for my first full marathon this year!
Yoga!
Reading the Bible!
Being the voice of sober reason
Going to events. Socializing used to scare the heck out of me, and I always thought the booze was there to help. Now I realize the booze made it worse, not better. Looking forward to going to a wedding today
Rediscovering old interests. Just getting back in touch with the things I missed out on when all I was focused on was drinking
At a meeting now!! I’m ok with that
Hiking! My backyard is a hiking Mecca, never thought about it much until I stopped drinking. In 3 years I’ve done 5 fourteeners and 300-400 miles in hikes. I was missing out for years, now learning to take advantage!! Congrats to you and what a great post:)
