What’s your morning ritual?

What’s your morning ritual?
For me, I make my bed, pray and be grateful for another day sober, make my morning coffee (black with mtc oil and stevia), take vitamins and supplements, put on a podcast or video on health or motivation. Maybe some jams to bring the mood up.
When I started living a sober lifestyle, I realized how crucial the morning routine is for me. It gets me ready for work or the gym. What’s yours?

I wake up and make my coffee with a little milk. I usually turn on the local news to catch the weather, get a few updates, and then I turn it off. On a sunny morning, I also check my garden. That’s probably my favorite morning ritual.

Thanks Kevin, you reminded me that I have been slacking on mine. On awakening, how it works and 3rd step prayer. About 20 minutes of TaiChi followed by a gratitude list and prayer is how I like to get started.

That’s awesome! I’m thinking about gardening myself. Too late to start planting for summer veg?

Work days, nothing too special for me. Wake, shower, fix lunch, grab coffee on the go and get cracking on my 1 hour commute. My drive time is now enjoyable and I’ll listen to a podcast or some music. Pretty relaxing. It used be shaking off a hangover and regretting how much I drank.

Days off, I’ll wake up feeling refreshed, brew some nice coffee, and listen to music while I cook breakfast. I can’t believe I wasted so much time recovering from hangovers only to do it all over again. I look forward to mornings now. Not a day goes by that I don’t feel grateful for having chosen sobriety.

7 am wake up (6 weeks of that in rehab turned into a habit I’ll probably have a long time, lol). Do my daily readings. Depending on my schedule that day I’ll either go to the gym or eat breakfast. I’m at work by 9-9:30 or if I’ve got the day off there’s something else I’m doing by that same time. Always find a moment of gratitude for the chance at another day clean

Every morning I get up and get ready like it's the busiest day of my life. People will ask where are you going and I just tell I don't know yet but I'm going to find out.

Push-ups, immediately. Sit-ups. Bicep curls with 20lb dumbbells. Repeat a few times. Down a glass of water. Log into work. Start work. Take break every 10-15 mins for more push-ups, sit-ups, and bicep curls. Repeat. More water. More work. More exercise. Repeat. No useless YouTube videos. More work. More workout. More water. Go like that until about noon.

Work from home helps.

Mine is I wake up read my just for today then I check my recovery Snapchat group then at 9 am I go on recovery zoom meeting for a hour or more

I wake up, go outside and spend some time with the Lord. I pray for strength and thank him for another day sober. If I skip that time with the Lord. I will struggle during the day.

Wake up make my Starbucks special blend open up my safe get out my medication and my methadone put on the tv and remember how lucky :four_leaf_clover: I am waking up sober and not dope sick and praying  for the people that are still living in pain with heroin addiction please god do something about the fentanyl it’s killing a whole generation of Americans

Brush my teeth, shave, shower. I feel refreshed after shower. I stretch my legs back and shoulders. Maybe do some push ups or a short bout of exercise to get the blood flowing. Then I meditate 10-20 minutes until I have to go to work. Takes about an hour BUT it would take about an hour if I just stayed lazy in bed. My routine gets me ready to take on whatever the day brings!

Not too late! Just be smart about what you plant in your zone this time of year. Make sure the plant has time to mature before you go to frost. You probably have plenty of time for tomato and pepper transplants, herbs, beans, and more.
