Whatever works for you

For me! I see no reason to attend AA meetings they are a waste of time FOR ME! but if it works for someone else by all means go to them. All I see is a bunch of people with excuses on why they relapse, then other people cuddle them but by saying it's ok next time. Not me I've had 7 sponsors and all were walking excuses of why getting high or drunk was getting make things better I like my original way of staying sober fitness and accountability.hey don't let my rant push you away from your way of staying sober

AA is a great tool for some but agree it’s not for everyone including myself. I used alcohol the last 2 1/2 years as a coping mechanism so for me working with a therapist has helped me so much more. οΏΌ

They’ll never be free of that label when they keep admitting they are for life. I had to change my Identity yes fitness is the way because then you just want to get better and better.

It's that mindset of ADMITTEDLY SAYING IM AN ADDICT. get away from that once you decide to quit your a new creature with a new mindset

You're not saying that you're an alcoholic so you can wallow in it. You're saying it for the new person. So they can identify and relate. And because we know we can never drink "normally" and that for most of us, the temptation is always there.

I've made some amazing friends in AA.

I'm made some good friends as well but I'm done with AA for me it's not my cup of tea anymore

Good morning all.

Thank you Paul for sharing your opinion.

I understand like you said it just does not work for you and there’s nothing wrong with you speaking your truth.

But for me, my God led me to the fellowship, AA and NA.

I struggled with drugs and alcohol for 21 years and never found a way out of the insanity and the self destruction

Since I have been going to meetings, sponsoring men and women, and fully given of myself to changing myself, I just celebrated 23 years cleaning and sober

I am grateful that it has worked for me.

You do you. Whatever works - do it. AA has worked for me, but I’m well aware there are more ways to achieve sobriety. Best to ya

Oddly enough I've had the same conversation lately regarding what works for me and how we are all different. I've found at the end of the day a group of people are exactly that (we are all individuals) doing the best we can and there's nothing more any of us can do. My brother gave me great advice...he told me it's YOUR program and you figure out what works for you :muscle: for me personally if I have an hour I may see it as more fit (pun intended) to spend time in the gym. There seems to be alot of correlation between mind-body-emotions-soul healthy
