Whats the best advice you have ever given or received?
Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.
I wrote this one line in one of the rap songs I wrote over a decade ago...live for today no for tomorrow and don't wollow in your sorrows
Sobriety is NOT sexually transmitted.
If you're a newcomer under no circumstances and/or conditions are you to get involved in a relationship in the first year of your sobriety.
For the rest of us, have some dignity and show some integrity DO NOT 13 step the newcomer.
To the guys .. Keep it in your pants.
To the girls... Keep your legs closed.
You'll thank me later.
it's not what you don't know that is harmful. it's the things that you're convinced that you know, that just aren't so, that will kill you.
basically forget everything you think you know about life. God, others. the recovery process, 12 steps, etc.... (the set aside prayer) remain teachable...we have enormous egos, even though we're beaten and homeless and broke (when we get here), we think we know it all. that mindset has killed many addicts
Get sober
Just do it! You can’t think your way out of a problem. It’s your thinking that’s got you into all of these problems. Recovery is a program of action.
I stay drunk…We stay sober. Sobriety is not a solo activity.
