Whats the biggest lesson you learned from being addicted to now being sober?

And are you like me….I’m glad I experienced addiction and almost committing suicide because it made me who I am today. More humble, a better person. My outlook on people and life has changed so much for the better.

Diamonds are formed under pressure and are molded over time with taking hits and being pushed to its limits. I’ve learned so much about myself being at the bottom. I appreciate being at the top now.

How have you been doing Logan? Your comments sounded a lot like mine, about being grateful for my past because it made me who I am today. I pray you’re doing well.

I’m sorry for your loss. It’s a new beautiful day for me. Hopefully turns out to be a great one. Evenings/nighttime’s are the hardest for me.

I am right there with you.facing my addiction has made me a better person.
I learned not to suppress or hide my feelings and emotions or hold onto resentments.most importantly I learned my opinion of myself is more important than what someone else's opinion of me is.its none of my business what they think.
You have a great outlook !! by accepting the past in order to live in the present and the ability to create the future you want.

My fears get to me at bedtime. But I realize that before they were covered up by alcohol & I just crashed. Now I have to learn how to deal with all of them.

The biggest lesson I learned, is stop letting things happen, quit putting yourself in situations and don’t be afraid to walk away for you….

Biggest lesson: that sobriety will never be enough for me, I have to learn everyday to make the most of it or I will go back to using.
For me it’s giving up 1 thing for everything and no longer giving up everything for 1 thing. ❤️‍🩹

That if I wanna stay sober it’s as simple as following this plan of action. Don’t drink, go to meetings, work the steps that’s it.

We tend to complicate this whole sobriety situation. But to drink or to drug is to die

I can't drag myself down to other people's levels and allowing myself to be the best me possible. Not to let other people dictate what i do and do not do. Also, to stop setting myself on fire just to keep other people warm
