When all I did was read the big book and my higher power was a doorknob I went years with no push back. I started reading my Bible, laying my life down, and conversing with the Holy Spirit and shit hit the fan. Maybe this only happened to me?

Yeah you suddenly became a threat to the enemy who wanted to keep you enslaved to vices. It's tough love and brokenness but leads to healing and growth only God can provide.
