When and how did any of you make ammends

Best amends you can make in the beginning is stay sober and clean. Show others you offended you want a new life. It’ll trickle down in the form of amends.

A living amend is to stay sober to the people you hurt with your addiction.
Other amends come when you get to step 9.

Apologize. Show empathy/sympathy. Allowed the other party to determine when and if they wanted to stay connected.

Go through the steps with a sponsor. Do steps 1-7. Make your 8th step list and share it with your sponsor. After that you’ll be ready to make amends.
If you’re kicking yourself and want to just start apologizing like a remorseful busy bee limit yourself to these words “I’ve made a lot of mistakes, I’m now in Alcoholics Anonymous and even though I’m not on step 9 yet I would like you to know that I will be contacting you when the time is right”
Try to keep it that simple. Stay sober, do the steps. You’ll make a far better amends by doing them in order.
