When do the cravings go away? When I have

When do the cravings go away? When I have them, I literally do not leave my bed. This morning I was trying to figure out how to retrieve my dealer’s phone number.

Whenever you think of your dealer, pray for serenity and call your sponsor or another woman in your program/home group.

Cravings diminish over time. I was a fall down drunk and now occasionally I have to go to a liquor store for work and I get through it. Steps 1-3 really help put time and space between you and your DOC.

And, you’re doing great. Whatever you’re doing is working because you’re still here!!

Thank you.

Suggestion…change your number or throw away that phone and contacts. The past if clung onto will take you back out.

Most cravings actually dissipate in a manner of minutes IF you don't go down the rabbit hole with them. What does this mean? Well when you acted upon them you gve them further life so they lasted longer. Instead come up with some things that give you purpose and give you pleasure. You mentioned a son in one of your other posts. Grab your son and go get a donut. If he's not around then do something for him. Maybe start a project that you two can work on together AND apart. Splash cold water in your face. Don't know about meth but for booze that actually helps. Think about how great your life is going to be without meth. Then grab an action item to get there and go do it. I finally cleaned out my workshop as an example. Just keep moving forward and feel the pull of your better self

Stay focused stay strong stay busy

When I get those cravings (I still do after all these sober years), I remind myself of what I gave away for the drink, the drug, the sex, etc. Then I think about the emptiness and loneliness I was existing through praying to who or whatever to end this life I CHOSE to live. Once I get to that point of saying, "I need SOMETHING to get this crap out my brain; TO FEEL GOOD AGAIN"! I look at my life TODAY: I have a home (may not be much, BUT IT'S MINE!)! I've started to regain my sense of self worth (in other words, MY HUMANITY!)! And MANY OTHER THINGS that would take too long to mention. Most importantly, I HAVE MY FREEDOM!!! I'M NOT A SLAVE TO THAT F%$KING DISEASE!!! With help from HP & people who live this life, I can become MY TRUE SELF; THE REAL ME that everyone loves and will support me on this part of my life's journey. NO BRAINER!!!

Combat them by doing something in place of using or thinking about them
The faster u work to replace the thoughts and do something to feed ur mind recovery and something meaningful the better u will feel
Get up shower and enjoy a nice relaxing meditation and force yourself to sit and focus while sipping a fav tasty treat
Do something to stimulate ur senses for ur good and to nurture urself
The longer u lay in agony thinking and wishing it away the more likely ur to act upon the thought
Do not let urself think about how crappy u feel or bad u want to use
Force it out
Pray
Call someone
Go to an in person meeting and get encouraged and loved on
My first eighteen months were hell
And I would do it again to be where I’m at no doubt without hesitation it was far worth it all
There is nothing using won’t make worse!
